Whale sharks frequently visit Baa Atoll during manta season, particularly in August and September. They are attracted to the same plankton blooms as the manta rays and are often encountered on the same excursion. While sightings cannot be guaranteed, our guides know the waters of Baa Atoll well and will always work to maximize your chances of encountering both species during your stay.

A typical manta watching excursion lasts 3 to 4 hours in total, including boat travel to and from Hanifaru Bay.
