Island Luxury Maldives, established in 2021, embarked on its journey with the inauguration of the Fulhadhoo Boutique Hotel. Since that momentous inception, our hotel brand has soared to remarkable heights, expanding our vision of community-inclusive hospitality across multiple destinations in Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Our vision for sustainable local tourism was rooted in the principle of community inclusivity, demonstrating our commitment to the ideals of local tourism. Local tourism was conceived as a means to generate employment opportunities and economic prosperity for island communities, and Island Luxury Maldives took up the mantle of demonstrating its viability. Our goal was clear: to provide top-tier hospitality services like those offered by premium hotels and resorts while supporting local communities.
Today, our brand boasts an impressive portfolio spanning two distinctive islands in Baa Atoll. In Fulhadhoo, we operate the Island Luxury Dive Hotel and Island Luxury Fulhadhoo Boutique Hotel, while in Maalhos, we proudly manage the Island Luxury Maalhos Retreat. Our comprehensive offerings also include an Excursion Centre, a luxurious sailing Catamaran Yacht, and dive centres known as the Underwater Institute operating from both islands. These institutes, managed by one of the most esteemed dive operators in the Maldives, Maldives Passion, uphold our commitment to excellence in all aspects of our marine experiences.
In recognition of our unwavering dedication, we were honoured with two prestigious awards for the Island Luxury Boutique Hotel category at the Maldives Tourism Awards 2022. These accolades were presented on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Maldives National Tourism Day, commemorating 50 years of tourism in the Maldives. Our achievements were in “Best Training and Career Development” and “Highest Parity of Maldivian Employees,” a testament to our commitment to community empowerment.
At our hotel properties, Dive Schools, and Excursion Centres across Fulhadhoo and Maalhos, we take immense pride in our workforce, as 95% of our team comprises local community members from both islands. This commitment to empowering and engaging the local populace remains at the heart of our mission, as we continue to redefine the standards of hospitality across multiple destinations in the Maldives’ most biodiverse marine environment.
